Due to the noise of the software timer, the calculated rotation speed (coutns/s) is pretty noisy even if encoder produces clean counts data. Two filter designs are proposed to obtain the accurate and smooth derivative from data; 1) Kalman filter design and 2) a custom Moving-horizon Quadratic Filter design.
